LEED Projects

What is LEED?

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based, market driven program that provides third-party verification of green buildings.

For commercial buildings and other buildings, to earn LEED Certification a project must satisfy all LEED prerequisites and earn points on LEED rating system scale

LEED Certified - 40 to 49 Points
LEED Silver - 50 to 59 Points
LEED Gold - 60 to 79 Points
LEED Platinum - 80 and Above

Albany Public Libaries

This project consisted of full renovations of the Pine Hills, Howe and Delaware Branches

These projects were managed by the Dormitority Authority of the State of NY (DASNY) and each project recieved a LEED Silver Certification.

PINE HILLS BRANCH

Work Consisted of a complete renovation of a previously abandoned library including a new efficient mechanical system, a two story glass rail staircase with natural light from the new oversized skylight.

HOWE BRANCH

Work Consisted of an addition with handicap accessiblity features, modern heating system, complete gut rehab of existing library including complete restoration of all existing windows.

DELAWARE BRANCH

Work Consisted of a complete renovation of an existing funeral home. Remodeled to a modern, library with a wonderful open floor plan.

SUNY Cobleskill Frisbie Hall

This project consisted of a complete renovation of the existing building, inside and out

This project was for the State University of NY College of Agricultural and Science at Cobleskill, Coblkeskill NY. The project recieved a LEED Silver Certification.

Work Consisted of a complete renovation inside Á out where over 350 tons of waste was diverted to recycling landfills. The building envelop recieved all new spray foam insulation along with restored windows, restoring the main stair case, and installing a brand new elevator shaft. A 100yr slate shingles was also installed, along with creating a new front portico with African Mahogoney wood.

SUNY Albany Herkimer Hall

This project consisted of a complete renovation of the existing building, inside and out

This project was for the State University of NY College at Albany. The project recieved a LEED Silver Certification.

Work Consisted of a complete renovation inside Á out where the building layout was redisigned, new fixtures, equipment, looring, lighting and Mechanical systems were changed out. Only thing left was the building shell. The interior of the building has been completely rehabbed to appeal to the students of the twenty-first century and yet respect that original Mid-Century Modern architecture. While the original floor to ceiling heights are fixed but the renovation has created several two story volumes to provide interest and relief within the residence hall. The first floor houses an apartment for the quad director, an enhanced accessibility suite, student suites, lounge and study spaces and laundry room. The second and third floor include student suites, student suites, lounge and study spaces and laundry room as well. The basement floor provides a large multi-purpose room, two study rooms, and a vending area. The project has been completed and returned to service for the Fall of 2017.
